Upgrading Your Kitchen Sink: What It Really Costs in 2026

A sink replacement takes us one to two hours, yet it changes how the whole kitchen looks and works. Here is what to know before you choose.

Top-mount vs undermount

Top-mount (the rim sits on the counter) is cheaper, installs on any countertop, and swaps quickly — labour runs RM150–400. Undermount mounts beneath the counter for a seamless look; you can wipe water straight in, but it needs a solid granite or quartz top. Converting from top-mount to undermount involves countertop rework, which we quote after seeing a photo.

Stainless vs granite composite

  • Stainless steel (RM150–600): lighter, durable, the practical choice for heavy wok cooking
  • Granite composite (RM400–1,500): premium look, quieter, resists scratches — but heavier, so the cabinet must support it

Small upgrades that matter

While the sink is out, it costs little extra to do things properly: a new bottle trap (RM50–150) stops kitchen smells coming back up, and a pull-out mixer tap makes washing big pots dramatically easier. These add-ons cost far less during a swap than as separate visits later.

Buy your own or let us supply?

Both work. If you buy your own, send us the model and a photo of your counter first — confirming the cut-out size takes one WhatsApp message and saves you a wrong purchase.
